Welcome to WARRIOR STRONG!
Whether your goal is to move better, become more capable, build muscle, lose fat, increase your bone density, or just generally become more kickass at life, your ticket to success is to focus on increasing your STRENGTH. At Athena Mobility & Strength, we’ve begin all of our members with an awesome foundation of corrective exercise, solid movement mechanics, and bulletproof body awareness to help each of you feel and move better – and now we’re pumped to add an entirely new element to our class roster with WARRIOR STRONG (Mondays and Wednesdays at 4:45pm/6:15pm). A perfect compliment to Pilates and High Intensity Interval Training, Warrior Strong with Coach Meg Ramos will help you build confidence when it comes to lifting weights so you can ensure you’re progressing safely and efficiently (all within the supportive, welcoming and FUN environment you’ve come to expect at Athena Mobility & Strength).
In Coach Meg’s Words
After years of chasing smallness via tons of cardio, I found strength training for the first time almost ten years ago and I’ve never looked back! Whether I used barbells, kettlebells, dumbbells, or my own body weight, my mindset shifted from my body’s shape to what it was capable of.I left each session feeling powerful, confident, and capable of anything (including but NOT LIMITED TO slinging a keg overhead).
As a coach, it’s my mission to bring this same sense of empowerment to the people I coach. I love the moment when ability, confidence, and grit collide and BOOM – a weight moves that you never thought you’d be capable of moving. It’s an amazing feeling that transfers from the gym into everyday life – whether you’re carrying all of your groceries in one trip, slinging your toddler over your shoulder, moving your own furniture, testing your mettle in a powerlifting competition, or simply staying active and independent into your 90s.
But even more than building strong booties, backs, and biceps, I love making weight training less intimidating and more accessible to anyone who’s been meaning to start but isn’t really into the weight room vibe or wants a little more guidance on proper form.
So without further ado, I’m stoked to see each of you on the gym floor! You can join in the STRONG fun on Mondays and Wednesdays at 4:45pm and 6:15pm – and if you have any questions about whether this class is right for you (hint, the answer is YES!) just shoot me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and say hello.
What to Expect
This 45 minute session will provide balanced, functional, and FUN strength training workout that’s appropriate for all levels with lots of hands-on instruction and correction, plus options to modify each movement to ensure you’re working with your body, not against it. Whether you’re a seasoned lifter or a newbie, expect to be progressively challenged and see an increase of strength and capability as you attend consistently.
Each month we’ll kickoff a new program of two different weekly workouts (Monday and Wednesday) that we’ll repeat over the course of the month, so you have plenty of opportunities to see improvement – but if you join in mid-month you’ll be just fine to get started!. Workout A (Mondays) and Workout B (Wednesdays) are designed to work whether you can only attend once weekly or you decide that this is your new favorite thing and I get to see your face in the place on both days. Expect to be challenged in a way that’s entirely different but just as awesome as Pilates and HIIT, and walk out the door having unleashed your inner superhero.
